YCP St Joseph’s Parish Organises Mass Wedding for 10 Couples

Ten couples were on Saturday, September 28, 2019, joined in Mass Wedding, at the annual Matrimony organized by the Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) of St Joseph’s Catholic Parish (UNIZIK Temporary Site), Awka, Anambra State at the parish.

Receiving the consent of the couples on behalf of the Church, the Parish Vicar, St Joseph’s Parish, Awka, Rev. Fr. Kilian Ike, enjoined them to uphold the vows they took, as well as live according to the tenets of marriage in accordance with the mind of God.

The Parish Vicar, commended the YCP for the well-organised Mass wedding, through which the previous 20 individuals, were reconciled with God, and their union blessed. He noted that the couples would forever be grateful to the YCP, for putting smiles on their faces, through their singular act of goodwill.

Earlier in his homily, Rev Fr Ike, described marriage as a commitment of love and fidelity. He urged the newest couples to dispose themselves to the grace of the sacrament they received, so as to live out good marital lives, and train their children in the way of God.

The priest, who tasked the couples on responsible parenthood towards their children, prayed that the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony they received would be salvific and redemptive in their lives.

He described their mass wedding as a dream come true, and stressed the need that they be grateful to the YCP that organized and picked the bill for the wedding.

Speaking on the occasion, the YCP President, Engr Chika Ngobili, on behalf of the executive and members of the professionals, congratulated the 10 newest couples who had at last joined themselves in Holy Matrimony.

Engr. Ngobili appreciated Rev Fr Ike and all the YCP members that contributed to the success of the wedding ceremony, for their goodwill and support.

The new couples were Mr Onyebuchi & Mrs Chika Ugwu, Mr Stephen & Mrs Gladys Nweke, Mr Chukwujekwu & Mrs Chioma Ofuonye, Mr Remigius & Mrs Blessing Abaeze and Mr Daniel & Mrs MaryRose Ejike. Others were Mr Chibueze & Mrs Kelechi Chukwuma, Mr Michael & Mrs Helen Obosi, Mr Anthony & Mrs Celestina Ezewudo, Mr Princewill & Mrs Grace Nwafor and Mr Clement & Mrs Annastesia Okeke.
