Tinubu Has Done Much for SE in 2 Years, Support Group Tells Igbos

…Says Coalition should be Ignored

By Ikeugonna Eleke

A group of young professionals from the South East have launched a political pressure group to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

The young professionals under the aegis of South East Progressive Ambassadors, which was code-named SEPA 2027, during its recent launch in Abuja, called on Igbos to ignore what they described as the noisy talk of the coalition and join the rest of Nigeria in charting a way forward for the country by supporting Tinubu.

In a text read at the launch, which was signed by the group’s Convener, Secretary and Leader of the Women’s Wing, John CDO Ikeotuonye, Justin Ogoo Nwankwo and Vivian Chinyere Nnajiofor, the group vowed to leave no stone unturned in the quest to ensure the re-election to President Tinubu, insisting that doing so would be beneficial to Ndigbo.

Part of the text read: ‘We must ignore the wave of coalitions going on in the country and keep our eyes fixed on the national political interplay where even the best of the North are realigning to the APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu camp, while the retired and spent forces are wooing our people from the East into a strange alliance.

‘The goal must be larger and broad. We must reaffirm our belief that it is time the South East, especially the young progressives amongst us, rose and made our observations and convictions loud, clear and fully detached from emotions and sentiments.

‘We must therefore, as a matter of urgency, organize ourselves and make sound political calculations and avoid the endless search for political relevance from outside of the table.

‘The very fact that we have four different political parties in the five states of the South East speaks volumes of the urgency of our unification. We must unite now or never!

‘The progressives are moving ahead of 2025 and the South East must move. No amount of coalition forces must distract this critical mandate of a united and unified support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027.

‘But it is not just about endorsements – it is about strategic alliance, positioning, legacy continuity, youth inclusion, and national cohesion. We are positioning ourselves to be, not just supporters, but also contributors to governance, through data-driven advocacy and positive engagement of the grassroots in the South East.

‘We therefore, invite stakeholders across public and private sectors in the South East to partner with us in spreading this grassroots renewed hope movement for immediate inclusion,’ the group called.

It warned that the call must be heeded, to avoid moving from being marginalized by the state to self-marginalization, adding that it was determined to halt the drift immediately.

The group chronicled some of President Tinubu’s achievements in the zone to include the establishment of South East Development Commission; construction of strategic roads in the zone; support to South East Governors; tax reform bills; education loan; among others.

The launch was attended by leaders of other support groups, including the Ogun State Coordinator of City Boy Movement, Dr Sulaimon Lateef Adegboyega, who assured that President Tinubu was not a man of empty promises, but a man of conviction, structure, and strategic action. He said the South East would benefit from supporting Tinubu and urged the zone to key into his government.
