The Supervising Bishop, Diocese of Awka, Right Reverend Samuel C. Ezeofor has tasked the clergymen in Awka Diocese to live above board in all ramifications. He encouraged them not to mislead the children God  had put under their watch.

Bishop Ezeofor pointed out that judgment will be severe for clergymen than laity hence, no clergyman should lead a member to hell by his actions and inactions.

He warned against corruption, diversion of church funds, homosexuality, sexual exploitation of all sorts, lesbianism, fornication, adultery and all forms of criminality in the Church of God.

He lamented that since two weeks of his assumption of duty as Supervising Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Awka that he received more calls and text messages than he had received in a year with almost all the messages shaming, disgracing and a reproach to the Church, with a handful encouraging him to do the needful as Supervising Bishop, Diocese of Awka.

Bishop Ezeofor who is the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese also called for prayers for the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and particularly Diocese of Awka at this trial moment.

Bishop Ezeofor spoke at the ancient church in Awka Diocese in the premises of Paul University Awka – The Church of The Holy Spirit Awka during the Diocesan Prayer, Solemn Assembly.

He insisted that the need to cry to God for intervention for the diocese of Awka is not only grave, but urgent.

He reminded that the truth should be sacrosanct in the church always as when truth dies in the Church, trust in Christ by brethren through Christianity suffers.

He described the church as the pillar and foundation of truth, adding that once truth is removed from the church, it’s a social club. He warned that priests should be exemplary and holy by shunning all dirty actions.

He assured that God’s healing will return to Awka Diocese and the church of Christ with genuine prayers and supplications to God by His people.

The Awka Diocesan Board meeting took place shortly after the solemn assembly at the same venue.
