The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Onochie Anyachebelu as the substantive Chief Judge of Anambra State, at a plenary of the House.
The House confirmed his appointment as requested by Governor Willie Obiano in line with the recommendations of the National Judicial Council of Nigeria and the Section 271 of the 1999 Constitution as amended, Fides learnt.
Before his confirmation, Justice Anyachebelu had gone through the screening of the House Committee on Election Matters and the Screening headed by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pascal Agbodike, which certified him worthy in learning and character to be the Chief Judge of Anambra State as required by law.
