Zone 13 ZPPRO Kicks off Sensitization/Outreach Programmes for Schools in Anambra

The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo-Dunukofia, Anambra State, SP Ihunwo Josephine K, on Thursday, 5th December, 2024, kicked off a Sensitization/Outreach Programme for schools In Anambra State.

Speaking on the essence of the programme at Community Secondary School, Nawfia, the ZPPRO said it was aimed at enlightening and educating the public on security alertness and awareness.

The Zone 13 image maker lectured on abstinence from cult and cultism-related activities, security consciousness, while also harping on police friendliness to better enhance the relationship between the police and the public.

In line with the Vision-Mission of the Inspector-General of Police Dr Olukayode Egbetokun for the Force, SP. Ihunwo undertook an enlightenment campaign programme for schools and the public in a bid to draw the people closer to having more robust and healthier relationships between the police and the public in Anambra State.

With a warm reception by the Principal, staff and students who turned out in their numbers, the event that took place at Nawfia Community Secondary School, was marked with an impactful lecture by the Zonal PPRO, to highlight and underscore crucial security issues aimed at helping the public to better understand and assume their role in the fight against insecurity.

Some of the issues discussed, centred on security consciousness/alertness, abstinence from crimes such as cultism and other social vices, and police friendliness.

The ZPPRO equally assured the people that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone13, Ukpo, AIG Godwin Ndidi Aghaulor, was open to receiving their complaints and putting words to action in addressing security issues around the Zone.

Complementing the effort of the ZPPRO, the Anambra Special Unit Coordinator of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Mrs Ubah Stella Ijeoma, took the centre stage to address the staff and students who were present during the outreach, showcasing the synergy between the police and the PCRC in making sure that security issues within immediate localities got the needed attention and were addressed properly.

While appreciating the Force PRO, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Zone13 PPRO reiterated to the audience, the Force’s goal in making sure to give adequate security protection to Nigerians, and equally encouraged them to continue being law-abiding citizens and good image makers of the country wherever they might find themselves.
