The Young Progressives Party, YPP, Guber Candidate in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, and his running mate, Mr Uzuegbunam Okagbue, were last Sunday treated to a rousing reception in Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area.

The event which witnessed an impressive turn out, was hosted by Chief Michael Onyeka Obidi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mega Abattoir, with many well-wishers and popular entertainers, including flutist, Ojaligbo, and Mbem Master, Odejiji, and hundreds of youths also in attendance.

In his brief remarks, the YPP Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mr Okagbue, said Sir Chukwuma was resolute in fixing Anambra State and restoring security in the state in order to boost its economy.

‘We want to fix Anambra so that security will return to Anambra State, and businesses will flourish. We will ensure that we fix the security challenges in Anambra State when elected,’ Okagbue said.

For his part, the YPP Governorship Candidate, Sir Chukwuma, accused the current administration in Anambra State under Prof Chukwuma Soludo, of having misplaced priorities and consequently failing to prioritize what mattered most.

‘If you are hungry, will you go to Fun City to swim? How many people here can go to the New Government House? Anambra belongs to all of us. We are determined to fix Anambra State. It is time for Anambra Youths to take their destiny into their hands,’ Chukwuma emphasized, amid cheers from the hosts.

Since the lifting of campaigns recently by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the November 8, Anambra State Governorship Election, the YPP’s engagement with the grassroots has gained momentum, a development, a media aide of the Candidate, Mr Ebuka Onyekwelu, described as electrifying and signaling the birth of a real opposition to APGA’s dominance of gubernatorial contests in Anambra’s past Governorship Elections.
