. . . Inducts Soludo, Commerce Commissioner as Patrons

The Willie Obiano Support Group, has honoured the national chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye, with Leadership Excellence Award.
The award, according to the group, was in recognition of the APGA national chairman’s resourceful and purposeful leadership that led to what they described as an unprecedented growth of APGA that metamorphosed into the ‘triumphant victory of Gov Willie Obiano’ and subsequent good outing in 2019 general elections.
This award was given on the occasion of the investiture of two new patrons of the group: Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, former governor of Central Bank and also a BoT member of APGA; and Hon Sir Uchenna Wiper Okafor, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Wealth Creation, who also was a BoT member of APGA.
In his address of welcome, the national chairman of Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Sir Jude Emecheta, went down memory lane by speaking of the group’s core objective, which, he said was anchored on grassroots sensitization and mobilization of Ndi Anambra to the good governance initiative of Gov Willie Obiano.
Sir Emecheta also pointed out that both the national and state leadership of APGA helped towards enhancing the great impact of the support group in Anambra State.
The highpoints of the occasion were the honouring of the National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Oye, with Leadership Excellence Award and the investiture of Prof Charles Soludo and Hon Sir Uchenna Wiper Okafor as Patrons of the group.
In their remarks, Ozonkpu Oye described the group as a political catalyst that helped APGA permeate the grassroots and pledged to continue to support the group.
In their acceptance speeches at the venue, Prof Charles Soludo proclaimed that as a member of Willie Obiano Support Group he was honoured through the elevatiion to the status of a patron, while in his own speech, Hon Okafor, who was represented by the member representing Oyi in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Chinedu Charles Obimma, thanked the leadership and members of Willie Obiano Support Group for finding him worthy of the investiture as a Patron
The event was chaired by the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor.
