The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gemstone Table Water Industry, Mr. Okechukwu Nwachukwu, says the Aku luo uno mantra of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, his determination to ensure that the locals, the entire residents of Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra People and beyond have access to clean, healthy and well treated water, the improved security architecture put in place by the Governor, as well as the visible infrastructural developments in the state, informed his decision to establish the company at Abidi Village, Umuoji.
The owner of the Industry, Mr. Nwachukwu, gave the above reasons during the official launch of Gemstone Table Water Industry, stating that the company was not just to create employment and generate revenue, but also to improve health as the machines in the industry were fully automated, even as he explained that their bottles and caps were customized with a technology that ensured that the manufacturing date and the other important information were coded, encouraging people to patronize and drink the water with confidence.
The employer of labour revealed that Gemstone Table Water Industry would be producing 60cl, 75cl, 150cl, dispenser bottles and sachet water.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Hon Stanley Nkwoka, announced a one year tax waiver for the industry to encourage others to think home and invest and ensure further assistance in the areas that would expand the industry.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the launch, the Chief Supervisor of the industry, Comrade Uche Udego, said that the industry had standard laboratory and employed professionals to ensure quality production control.
Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Regent of Umuoji, High Chief Dr. C.O. Nnedu; the President General of Umuoji, Chief Sir Ifeanyi Muoemenam; the Councillor representing Umuoji Ward, Hon. Engr. Innocent Nnagbo; High Chief Emmanuel Onwumelu; among others.
