-as Bishop Ezeokafor Appoints Bubendorff Sports Centre Management Committee

The Catholic Bishop Of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor has constituted a seven-man Bubendorff Sports Centre Management Committee Adazi Nnukwu in Anambra state, and charged them to harness the best of talents and resources to serve the Church and humanity in the areas of sports.
In a letter dated June 6, 2020, the prelate appointed Rev Fr Obinna Dike, who is the Director of Sports Awka Diocese (DOSAD) as the Chairman. Engr Theodore Ezekwe, an indigene of Adazi Nnukwu was appointed the Vice Chairman of the committee, while Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School (BMGS) Manager/Principal was appointed the committee Secretary.
The other members of the committee included Hon Ikeobi Ejiofor, the former chairman of Anaocha Local Government Area, and from Obeledu; Fr Martin Eke, the Manager of Rosary College Nise, and an active sports person and administrator; Mr Francis Okonkwo, a respected sports trainer and security expert from Adazi Nnukwu, and BMGS Games master.
In the inaugural meeting of the committee hosted by the initiators of the project, BMGS Manager and Assistant Rev Frs Theodore Ekwem and Hilary Okwunalu respectively, on July 15, 2020 at the BMGS Adazi Nnukwu premises, the committee resolved to mobilize resources and expertise to deliver a world class sports complex in no distant time. After the first casual appraisal of the complex, the committee proposed a sports complex that would harbor facilities and equipment that can take Football, Athletics, Tennis, Basketball, Swimming Pool, and indoor games.
To further expedite work on the project, the committee constituted three sub committees – Bubendorff Stadium Management Sub Committee, Bubendorff Sports Centre Development Sub Committee, and Liaison/Special Duries Sub Committees. The sub committees are headed by Fr Martin Eke, Engr Theodore Ezekwe and Hon Ikeobi Ejiofor respectively, while BMGS Manager or representative acts as Secretary to them all. The sub committees were given the mandate to co-opt experts to help them achieve their set goals.
The committee later toured the Sports Centre site. The BMGS Games masters at the inaugural meeting were represented Mr Munachi Ekwu and Mrs Scholastica Nonyeluchukwu.
