…Says GEFAS Reached About 200,000 Voters Directly through Phone Calls

The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, says they predicted Governor Soludo’s victory in the just concluded governorship election in Anambra State held on the 8 November 2025, from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Command and Control Centre (Situation Room) set up by his Agency.
Conducting newsmen round the Situation Room, Mr. Agbata noted that the team had been confident about Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s chances before the polls.
He said the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) closely reflected research-based predictions generated from the centre operated by the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS), an ICT-driven campaign group.
According to him, Soludo was able to reach about 200,000 voters directly through phone calls made by 50 agents working from Command-and-Control Centres in Awka and Isuofia.
Agbata said GEFAS gathered field data and supplied the feedback to the Soludo Campaign Team, helping to refine its messages, campaign schedule, and overall strategy.
He explained that the data helped them understand voting sentiments, public concerns, and issues that could influence electoral choices and party preference.
He noted that GEFAS also deployed a mobile tech hub that provided free internet Wi-Fi at campaign venues, with usage reaching 27.5 terabytes.
Within six months, GEFAS was able to initiate 200,000 calls to generate data from the Anambra electorate. Our call centre started with 21 agents and later expanded to 50 across the Local Government Areas and two command and control centres. This enabled us to get voter sentiments and perception at the grassroots, data was processed daily, feedback improved messaging, while our C and C centre served as a laboratory for data collection and processing,’ he said.
Agbata added that the election situation room dashboard predicted turnout, party distribution, and results with notable accuracy.
He said the technology used made rigging difficult and easier to detect, while also commending INEC for applying technology in the process, and thanked Soludo for supporting the integration of digital tools into governance through the ICT Agency.
