. . . Blesses His 2nd Term Bid

By Jude Atupulazi

The second tenure aspiration of the House of Assembly member representing Njikoka 11 State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Sir Pete Ibida, has received a major boost following his endorsement by the people of his community of Nimo, Njikoka LGA.

The epochal event which took place in Ibida’s country home in Nimo, was massively attended by members of the community across party lines.

Speaking at the event, Engr Willy Akpu, Engr Francis Obidike and Lady Chinwe Mgbajiaka, all extolled the qualities of Ibida, describing him not only as a vocal voice in the house, but as the best state lawmaker in the history of the constituency.

They appealed to the people of the town to unite as one and return Ibida to the house to finish what he had started, even as they recalled the many projects he had attracted to the town, both through the state government and through his personal connections.

In his response, Ibida expressed appreciation and gratitude to his people for their support, noting that his sojourn in politics had always been to help humanity.

Noting that he was already very comfortable before joining politics, Ibida said he was not there to amass wealth but to serve his people.

Ibida who is also the Ide of the Catholic Men’s Organization, CMO, of Nimo Deanery, said it was necessary for him to return to the house as a ranking member in order for his capacity to be enhanced, a situation, he noted, that would also benefit his people more.

In a related development, the Nimo Town Development Union, NTDU, led by Chief Sir Anthony Igboka, has given Ibida a certificate of recognition in appreciation of his stellar representation in the house and contributions to the town. The ceremony which took place at Egwegwe Square, Nimo, saw the town union president general, Igboka, along with the Igwe-elect, Chief Maxi Oiliobi and Comrade Teacher Chika Iloerika, adopting Ibida for second term and handing him the certificate of recognition.

Days earlier, Fides recalls, youths from Abagana had thronged the home of Ibida to also express their solidarity and assure him of their support.
