By Abuchi Onwumelu

The Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Chieftaincy and Town Union Matters, Hon. Barr. Vera-Queen Okonkwo, has embarked on an aggressive mobilization and sensitization of voters in her community, Umuoji, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Addressing the executive members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Umuoji Ward, and party stakeholders in her house, Okonkwo said she was out to sensitize all eligible voters in Umuoji on the need to vote massively for APGA, emphasizing that APGA remained the party to watch out for in the next election.

The Special Adviser said that Governor Willie Obiano through what she described as massive developmental strides, had simplified the job of grassroots mobilization for all the government appointees, noting that her role was just to consolidate on the gains by the present administration, adding that she would continue to broadcast the good deeds of Governor Willie Obiano.

Okonkwo who is the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Legal Matters, assured the gathering that the APGA government in the state would continue to deliver democracy dividends to all communities in Anambra State, emphasizing that the Choose-Your-Project Initiative initiated by the governor had given many towns a facelift.

She enjoined all APGA faithful and appointees to take the party’s message to all polling units and wards in their respective domains, saying that with massive enlightenment, the party would coast home to victory come the 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra.

‘Governor Willie Obiano has made everything easy for us. We have enough to tell the electorate. Let us go back to our polling units and wards and sensitize our people. We need to begin now to talk about the good works of our governor and our party. Those at the grassroots need to know what this administration is doing.

‘I have taken it upon myself to spread the message of good governance in Anambra State. Governor Willie Obiano is not only building roads, he is empowering primary health centres, offering adequate security, encouraging local businesses. Umuoji is my town. I am here to interact with the party’s executive members and APGA stakeholders. The time to begin is now,’ Okonkwo said.

In their separate speeches, the Councillor representing Umuoji Ward in Idemili North Local Government, Hon. Lotachukwu Okekeze; the chairman of APGA Umuoji Ward, Hon. Frank Nnadi and the Secretary of the Ward, Hon. Lady Mrs Ifeoma Nnagbo, thanked Hon. Vera-Queen Okonkwo for her kind disposition, pledging to join in the propagation of APGA’s message and also ensure that voters in Umuoji voted APGA in the next election.
