The Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev Valerian Okeke, has admonished the world to use social media and other communication technologies to spread truth, teach and promote love, for justice.

The Metropolitan Archbishop gave the advice in his social media handle on Sunday, 1st June, in the instance of the 2025 World Communications Day.

He argued that the age of artificial intelligence, social media, digital age of communications, the technology discovered through the intelligence God had given to humanity, as well as the progress made in science and development, should not be abused.

‘But use them to spread truth, dialogue for peace, promote unity, teach and promote love, and make sure there is justice,’ Archbishop Okeke urged.

‘In this way, we will live the life of Jesus, which is the life of love and participate in His exaltation,’ Okeke said.

He reminded the world that ‘Jesus, in his priestly prayer, prayed for unity, justice, obedience and love.’
