The Fides Media premises was a beehive of activities, Friday, 26 April, as 300 Level Students of Mass Communication of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK), arrived in their numbers on an excursion.
The students who were led by their lecturers, Dr. Obiorah Ignatius Edogor and Dr. Nneka Gloria Ono, were received by Rev. Fr. Robert Anagboso, Director Fides Media; and Rev.Fr. Constantine Okoli, Deputy Director Fides Media.
The students were taken on a tour of Fides Media facilities comprising the Newsroom (for news production) and the Press (where general printing and publications are done), as well as the Graphics/Studio Section where designs and pictures are done.
In an interview conducted with one of the lecturers immediately after the tour, Dr Obiora Edogor who lauded the Management of Fides Media for what he described as their good work.
In his words, ‘I am happy because it was live and students were following it as well. It wasn’t just mere talking, they saw it real and this will actually help them in their studies.’ He prayed God for more wisdom for the Management and the staff of the establishment.
One of the students, Master Bernard Okechukwu Nweke, who also doubles as the Course Representative of the class, thanked the Director and the entire Management of Fides for the opportunity given to them to go round the company on their visit, adding that the visit had exposed them to so many things which had made their study very easy.
‘I also want to thank our able lecturers for working tirelessly to see that we got the best which was the reason why they brought us here today to see those things they had taught in the class and we’re happy for that.’
In the same vein, the Director of Fides Media, Rev, Fr, Dr Robert Anagboso, and his Deputy, Rev, Fr Constantine Okoli, urged the students to take their studies seriously, noting that no one would want to engage a lazy person in their establishment. They exhorted them to strive for perfection on the career path they had chosen to follow; even as they welcomed them to the establishment.
