The chairman of the Anambra Chapter of the Atiku/Obi Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Oseloka Obaze, says that the unhappiness the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has caused Nigerians will be enough to send him packing.
Obaze who stated this during his weekly interaction with newsmen in his campaign office in Awka, said that with the level of poverty and unhappiness in the land, Buhari’s days in office were as good as gone. This was even as he charged Nigerians against repeating the mistake of 2015 which saw APC failing on all promises, thus making life difficult for Nigerians.
‘There is need to allow a better government to take over and set things right,’ Obaze said.
On the fears of the presidential election being rigged, Obaze allayed such fears, assuring that everything was being done to checkmate that, citing the interest of foreign bodies in the elections and their calls on the APC government to conduct free and fair polls.
Noting that INEC was challenged, Obaze said it behoved them to prove Nigerians’ suspicions wrong by conducting free and fair elections. While expressing relief that Amina Zakari was no longer in charge of the INEC collation room because of her relationship with the president, he charged INEC to insist on doing the right thing, even though they were individuals who were not perfect.
On the endorsement of the Atiku/Obi ticket by a coalition of ethnic groups, he described that as a positive indication that Nigerians were beginning to acknowledge good candidates.
On the suspected nonchalant attitude of the Southeast governors to the campaign efforts of PDP, Obaze said the governors were still fully committed to PDP as none of them had openly opposed the party. He said the presidential rally in Ebonyi State was enough indication of the support of the governors, as well as the huge support base of PDP in the state.
He charged Nigerians to seize the opportunity offered by the presidential election to shape their future by electing Atiku/Obi.
