. . As Chaplaincy Records 2019 successful Bazaar Sales

The Administrator of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu, Anaocha LGA, Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Jerome Okafor has said there was need for a Church structure to be erected for the chaplaincy at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He disclosed this while speaking with Fides during 2019 Harvest Thanksgiving and Bazaar of St. Joseph’s Hospital Chaplaincy.

Fides gathered that the Bazaar sales which was attended by few individuals’ recorded great success as the few persons prized the displayed items and purchased all items meant for sales which brought the 2019 Bazaar to an end.

Fr. Okafor explained the need for a church structure or a sizable chapel, saying that such would accommodate the population of the Catholic faithful and steady increase of the population of Students of College of Nursing Sciences that attends mass at the chaplaincy. He noted that the proceeds from the Bazaar sales would assist the chaplaincy to conceptualize plan for a chapel or church project.

He revealed that the chaplaincy had started celebrating two masses especially for the students due their population and emphasized the need for the students to be uniformed during masses, saying that the church project would help the chaplaincy achieve the unification of students at Mass.

Also speaking, the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Jude Igboka, said the bazaar would assist the chaplaincy commence church building plan and maintained that the church would bring students of the College of Nursing Sciences, hospital workers and others within hospital together as a community.

For his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Ifeanyi Nwankwo, while appreciating all that honored the bazaar invitation of the chaplaincy, expressed optimism that the intention of chaplaincy towards the chapel project would be a reality. He underscored the importance of attending bazaars and supporting church projects. He noted that through the attendance of bazaars, people sow and input resources for God’s projects to be carried and in the same manner created avenue for God to open up his showers of blessing, saying that nothing done in the house of God was a waste.

The Chairman of the Bazaar Planning Committee and Head of Department, Lab Sciences, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu, Mr. Ignatius Uzodimma Ejiofor, thanked God for a successful bazaar. He regretted that most people who frequent the chaplaincy for masses tend to disappear during bazaar period which he described as the time people support projects with their resources in thanksgiving to God. He emphasized the importance of a church structure in the hospital environment, saying that it would avail people the opportunity of according proper worship to God. He maintained that worshiping in a decent environment comes with numerous benefits to ensure wholeness of a human person.
