The Vicar, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka, Ven.Dr OnyekaChukwu Egwuonwu has warned Christians to shun living a life of fear, as according to him, any Christian living in fear is not worthy to be called a Christian.

He pointed out that nothing can separate someone who has peace of God from God’s grace and love.

In his sermon to mark the 2025 Peace Family Harvest Thanksgiving of the Church of the Holy Spirit Awka, Ven.Dr Egwuonwu said for any Christian to be without fear, the person must have the peace of God in him or her.

He insisted that no Christian can boast of having the peace of God while afraid of his shadows. He differentiated the peace that comes from Jesus Christ alone, and the peace referenced in the world as wide apart.

Ven.Dr. Egwuonwu who is also the Archdeacon, CHS Awka Archdeaconry  warned that the world has no peace to offer, hence anyone claiming to be a child of God without peace is far away from Jesus Christ ‘s salvation.

He informed that nothing troubles anyone with the peace of God within him or her, adding that with the peace of God and right attitude and doing the right thing, nobody shall have the audacity to push the child of God with peace within around.

He further said that anyone with peace, shall be able to defeat Satan in all his manipulative tendencies. He noted that there is no condemnation for anyone in Jesus Christ.

He insisted that nobody can buy God’s peace with gifts and anyone without peace can be likened to the biblical no peace for the wicked.

Highlight of the Peace Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday with theme “Living for God”, was the changing of the infant baptism clothes by a new towel bought by Justice Kalajine Anagbogu and solidarity and support from diaspora members of the church of the Holy Spirit from Peace Family — Chief Kenneth Ilodigwe and Mrs Vivian Ubani among others.

Earlier, Chairman of Peace Family, Sir. Dr Chinedu Ilokanuno and the Woman Leader, Barr Ogugwua Ochuba led members of the Peace Family to thank God for His mercies, even as Sir.Dr Ilokanuno did a solo choir performance.

In his remarks, Engr. Chuddy Egemba lauded the Peace Family for always being different with the performance of Nkwa Group from St. Faith’s Cathedral, Awka.
