Stakeholders Shutdown Idemili North as Nkwoka Takes Over as TC Chairman

Stakeholders at Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Thursday, 4th July, 2024, threw their weight behind the newly sworn in Transition Committee Chairman of the Council Area, Hon. Chief (Sir) Stanley Chigbo Nkwoka.

The stakeholders unanimously expressed happiness towards the emergence of Hon. Nkwoka as the new Transition Committee Chairman, Idemili North Local Government Area.

Chief Nkwoka, received at the LG Secretariat amidst pomp and pageantry, was among the 21 Transition Committee Chairmen recently appointed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to pilot the affairs of the third tier of government in the next three months.

The Chairman, who has distinguished himself in private and public sector, and previously served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the immediate past Governor of Anambra State on Environment, was received by the creme da la creme within the Council Area and beyond, including the State Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye; the party Local Government Chairman, Chief Lemmy Ekwo; aspirants in the last LG Transition Committee Election; Traditional Rulers, including Igwe (Pharm) Alexander Uzo Onyido of Ogidi Ancient Kingdom; Igwe of Abatete, His Royal Highness, Igwe Engr. Emeka Efobi; Eze Edeogu II of Abatete, represented by Chief Analikwu (Ichie Otie); the Traditional Ruler of Abacha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Godwin Nwabunwanne Odiegwu; the Regent of Umuoji, High Chief (Dr) Chris C. Nnedu; Presidents General of all the communities; APGA stalwarts; women and youth groups; Heads of Security apparatus within the LGA, among others.

Welcoming him to the number one LG seat, the Head of LG Administration, Idemili North, Engr. Emeka Chukwu, described the mammoth crowd accompanying him to the event as a clear testament of his acceptance and readiness to serve.

Speaking at the occasion, the new Transition Committee Chairman, Hon. Nkwoka, dedicated himself to the service of the Council Area with the vision of building a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous local government, where everyone would have access to quality services, opportunities, and a healthy environment.

He further stressed that his administration would focus on enhancing infrastructural development, improving local security and health care, primary education, promoting economic growth and job creation, protecting the environment and conservation, and fostering community engagement and stakeholder participation.

According to him, his top priorities would be anchored on the four major pillars of Governor Soludo’s Solution Agenda which included economic transformation, social agenda, good governance, rule of law and value system, and environment.

‘Mine is to work tirelessly to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance. Our doors are open to your suggestions, ideas, and feedback. Deepening the political conversation in ldemili North LG remains sacrosanct.

‘With Mr Governor’s remarkable achievements across the state, it shall create an open door revolution for bringing in more people to join the conversation. Leveraging the population strength of our LG, strategically positioning the party LG, wards and effectively reaching out to everyone shall top my priority,’ he stated.
