… Dr George Muoghalu Admonishes CMO Members at End of Year Outreach
The members of the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) St Francis of Assisi Parish, Amikwo Awka have held an epic end of year outreach Sunday, 8 December 2024, Reports Fr Robert Anagboso
The event which was organized by the association in partnership with Dr George Muoghalu who also doubled as the Chief Guest of honour attracted the presence of the parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Udogu who led the occasion with an opening prayer, among many members of the CMO and other parishioners.
In his opening speech, the visibly elated Parish priest, Fr. Udogu lauded the initiative of the organization, saying it was “a means of togetherness and show of love to the members of the CMO”. Going further he added, “I urge you to continue in this demonstration of faith and love, do not let evil seeds of jealousy and greed take root within you”.
Similarly, he thanked other contributors to the outreach, especially the “Royal Family” of the CMO Committee particularly, Igwe CMO St Francis of Asissi Awka, Sir. Oformata Emeka (KSJI), who as the chief coordinator of the Outreach saw that the program became a reality even as he prayed that in the years to come, more people will give their support and extend the palliative to people other than the members of the CMO.
In his message on behalf of the Chief Guest of honour, Dr. George Muoghalu, Chief Charles Anueyiagu, Lead Coordinator, Obedient Movement Anambra State, informed the congregation that Dr George Muoghalu was motivated by the socio-economic challenges in the country, especially hunger, to partner with the CMO St Francis of Assisi Amikwo Awka whose primary intention for the end of the year outreach was to assist the active members of the organization in the yuletide, not only to encourage them but also to alleviated the crushing hunger in the land. This he said tantamount to Jesus’ injunction to his apostles “Give the people something to eat yourselves”. Going further, he stated that “preaching the gospel is good but it is not enough. The highest way to preach the gospel considering the challenge of hunger in the country now, is to feed the hungry. This is perfectly in line with Jesus Earthly Ministry and commandment”, he concluded.
In his remarks, the chief coordinator of the Outreach, Sir Oformata Emeka (KSJI) thanked the parish priest for his support, as well as the members of the CMO, even as he urged them to see this outreach as an encouragement to participate more in the activities of the church, so it would grow stronger than ever.
As bags of 50kg rice were distributed to the selected beneficiaries from each zone of the parish, the CMO Chairman St. Francis of Asissi Parish, Mr. Emmanuel Mba, thanked the “Royal Family”, especially Igwe of CMO Sir Oformata Emeka, for his laudable efforts even as the beneficiaries happily expressed their gratitude for the received palliatives.
