Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on Tuesday, 25th March 2025, held its quadrennial election to produce another set of officers that will pilot the affairs of the Union for the next four years.
The election held at the association’s ultra-modern Secretariat Complex was adjudged by observers as free, fair, transparent, and credible.
The newly elected officers are as follows: Comrade Kennedy Chukwuemeka Udechukwu – Chairman; Comrade Confidence Kenneth Okafor – Vice Chairman; Comrade Bar. Ifeoma Nnolim – Secretary; Comrade JohnRufus Ijeoma Dora – Treasurer; Comrade Engr. Michael Izuegbunam Okpaleke – Asst. Secretary; Comrade Isa Umar – P.R.O; Comrade Odogwu Njideka – Fin. Secretary; Comrade Vincent Nwafor -Trustee 1; Comrade Emeka Egbeji – Trustee 2; Comrade Uche Sam-Chinweze –Women’s Coordinator; Comrade Uche Patrick Okafor – Ex. Officio 1; Comrade Njideka Mariana Nwangwu – Ex. Officio 2.
Speaking on behalf of the new branch executive Council, Comrade Kennedy Udechukwu appreciated members for the trust vested in him and the entire executive members through their votes, and prayed
for their unalloyed support, promising to continue and to improve on what he described as the good legacies of Comrade Dr. Amb. Njideka Nwangwu, the Immediate Past Chairperson (IPC) of SSANU, NAU.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the exercise, the immediate past chairperson (IPC) of SSANU, NAU, Comrade Dr. (Ambassador) Njideka Nwangwu, described the outcome of the election as the collective wish of the members, stating that it was generally peaceful as there was a massive turnout of members who thereafter prayed and wished the new executive members a very successful assignment.
