The Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, has described the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province His Grace Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, as one of the true Ministers of God who have made impressive marks in their religious mandates.
Felicitating Archbishop Okeke on his twenty-second Episcopal Ordination Anniversary on behalf of the state legislature, Right Honourable Udeze maintained that God had continued to use Archbishop Okeke greatly in transforming the Church and uplifting the spiritual base of the people.
The Speaker who noted with satisfaction the spiritual and corporate service which Archbishop Okeke had continued to render, commended him for what he described as the Bishop’s unprecedented interest in the wellbeing of the inmates of the Onitsha Correctional Centre where he had been providing them with both spiritual and physical needs.
He enjoined members of the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese to give Most Reverend Okeke the necessary support to enable him to sustain the tempo of development and evangelism in the Archdiocese and beyond.
Right Honourable Udeze prayed God to give Archbishop Valerian Okeke more strength, wisdom, longevity and sound health to be able to serve Him effectively.
