Security Bust Kidnappers’ Den in Enugwu-Agidi, Arrest One, Recover Arms

In a fresh significant development that proves the improving security situation in Anambra State, combined security forces have successfully raided a kidnapper’s hideout in Enugwu Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of a key suspect and recovery of a substantial cache of weapons.

The operation, conducted at 12:15 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025, was carried out by joint troops of the newly launched ‘Udo Ga-Chi’ and ‘Agunechemba’ Security Initiatives. Acting on credible intelligence, the forces apprehended Mr. Chukwudi Tansi, identified as a member of a suspected kidnapping syndicate.

The raid resulted in the recovery of an impressive arsenal, including two AK-47 rifles, eight pump action guns, and four locally made pistols. Additional items seized included three packets of cartridges containing 101 rounds, four empty AK-47 magazines, three cutlasses, a Baofeng radio, a motorcycle, and various charms.

The breakthrough followed as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security across Anambra State, with authorities maintaining their aggressive stance against criminal elements. This latest success is expected to further boost public confidence in the state’s security apparatus and contribute to the overall peace and stability of the state.
