By Michael Nnebife

The Proprietor of Divine Consolation Group of Schools, Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area, LGA, Anambra State, Mr Basil Ezekwe, has appealed to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, affluent individuals and communities in the state, to provide support to private schools in the state to enable every Anambra child, particularly the less-privileged in the rural areas, to have access to quality education.

He said the cost of attending private schools was the first limitation for many families, noting that this created a socio- economic divide where only those who could afford it have access to quality education.

‘For this reason, Consolers community came up with a scholarship scheme through our supporters which over 20 students benefit termly to assist the government reduce the number of out of school children in the state.

‘Therefore, I humbly appeal to the Governor and other stakeholders to give us tremendous support which will help us to facilitate the school projects as completion of the fencing, installation of solar CCTV camera for security, furnishing and equipping of the school library and sets of laptops, provision of toilet facilities and playground, among others.

‘We are releasing pupils who are morally faultless, academically impeccable and religiously upright who will make a positive impact to society,’ Ezekwe stressed.

He further emphasized that Consolers Schools placed much emphasis on technology, its applications, and a skills-based pedagogical approach to helping pupils learn better, love learning and realize their potential and strengths to compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world.

The Nimo School Proprietor expressed satisfaction that Consolers Schools had lifted the lives of many of the pupils, provided them with a strong foundation that would enable them to pursue their passion.

This, he said, was made possible by the collective efforts of many individuals, especially energetic and erudite teachers of the schools.

While expressing hope for better Consolers Schools, where skills-based education would continue to be given top priority, Ezekwe thanked God and individuals, who had in one way or the other contributed to the development of the Schools.
