The Deputy Director II of Fides Communications, Rev Fr Cyril Ezeani, has described prayer as part of daily life. Rev Fr Ezeani, who stated this in his homily of Sunday, July 28, 2019, noted that prayer should not be a spiritual activity that would be optional. He averred that prayer should be a spiritual activity that every individual would hunger for always.
Rev Fr Ezeani, who based his reflections on the readings of the Sunday, stated that with prayer, one would maintain a personal relationship with God. According to him, such relationship was what Jesus Christ envisaged when he instructed his disciples to, in prayers, approach God as their father.
He noted that just as God through his word of Jeremiah Chapter 29 :11, 14, affirmed that he had plans of progress for his people, the faithful through prayer, approached God the father, who knew their problems and would always give them succour.
The priest enjoined all to have total confidence in Christ, and to, just as he instructed them, pray always to God their father, and allow the will of God to take preeminence in their lives. This was even as he noted that the desire for the will of God in one’s life was a relationship of trust.
Pointing out that life was not for rivalry, but for complementing one another, Fr Ezeani called for spirit that unites, rather than that which is against others among people. He observed that any spirit that opposes one another was not a spirit of Christ.
