Police Hand Over Missing Child to Welfare, Urge Parents to Come Forward

By Jude Atupulazi

The Anambra State Police Command, Tuesday, announced the picking up of a 3-month-old baby found in front of Oraukwu Boys Technical College.

A press statement signed by the Command’s imagemaker, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the baby was recovered by a Good Samaritan and brought to Eziowelle Police Station.

It further disclosed that all efforts made to locate the parents or relatives of the baby for identification and claim had proved abortive, causing the police to hand over the baby to the Director of the Welfare Department of Idemili North LGA for safe custody.

The police called on members of the public who could identify or assist the police in reuniting the baby with the family to come forward and do so.
