Three car snatching suspects arrested in Awka

Police in Anambra State have arrested three young men for stealing a Lexus 330 Sports Utility Vehicle.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a press release that the men were intercepted in Awka on Wednesday, January 15.

He said: ‘Operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu Ukwu, while on patrol on the morning of 15th January, 2025, intercepted three occupants of a black-coloured Lexus 330 SUV without a number plate at Kwata Junction, Awka.

‘During interrogation by the operatives, the suspects: Ifesinachi Okonwko, aged 22 years; Chisom Okafor, aged 20 years; and Oderah Ebenezer, aged 20 years, respectively confessed to having stolen the car at Isuaniocha Village, Awka North.’

He added that the men confessed to be members of the same criminal gang and had been terrorizing innocent citizens in Awka.

He called on members of the public looking for their vehicle which matched the specifications given above to come for identification and collection of the vehicle.
