For Mr Onyebuchi Okocha, the emergent self-styled man of God, his days of ministration in the river may have been over. The pastor who calls himself Onyeze Jesus, and also popularly called, ”Ekelu Olu Eke”, was arrested last Wednesday by operatives from the Anambra State Police Command. Okocha is the Founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Okocha came to public consciousness by his unconventional method of videoing wealth seekers as they either stood with rams on river banks or bathing in the river. His latest episode which was believed to have led to his arrest was a video of young men and women bathing in the river, while the pastor sprayed crisp Naira notes on them.

Fides learnt that he would be arraigned for various offences on Thursday, 28th January, 2021.
It will be recalled that on Monday, 25th January 2021, the Anambra State Government had through a statement issued by Mr C. Don Adinuba, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, warned the pastor against his practices which the government considered as criminal and indecent conduct in the name of religion.
Also, in a related statement, Anambra State Ministry of Health had last Wednesday warned hospitals and mortuaries operating in the state against allowing the pastor access to their facilities to carry out his widely publicized claim that he would bring back seven corpses to life on the 28th of January, being last Thursday.
In response to that, the pastor made a video which went viral, where he apologized for his conduct, claiming that it was his workers that were responsible for the videos, while he also said all the monies sprayed were always immediately retrieved.
The pastor’s activities had been considered as morally sickening by many and may have led to the clamp down on him by the state government.
Pastor Okocha, about 32, is believed to hail from Amafor Village in Nkpor, and was once a bus conductor, and never studied beyond Primary six.
