Frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in next year’s election in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, will leverage the ”HIS” mantra in turning the state around.

Addressing newsmen at the Campaign office of Sir Chukwuma, recently, Hon Ifeanyi Ibezi, the Director General, Sir Paul Chukwuma Primary Election Campaign Council, explained HIS to mean, Human Capital Development, Infrastructure and Security.

‘Sir Paul Chukwuma does not want to have a bogus mantra to address core issues,’ Ibezi said, while expressing dissatisfaction with the incumbent governor’s failure to address the insecurity in the state.

Ibezi Decried the situation where the state faced massive decay of infrastructure, and terrible security situation and said his principal, Chukwuma, would re-energize APC through thorough consultation and enlightenment.

According to him, the stakeholders had been briefed on the intention of Chukwuma to contest and he assured that they were very sure of winning.

‘Our state party office is located in front of Government House so that after the election we will just walk across the road and enter,’ Ibezi said, explaining that Sir Chukwuma was bent on enthroning a new Anambra, under a rebranded APC.

He said the party in the state would commence a massive membership drive, noting that members of other parties were joining the party because it was the only viable party in the state.

Ibezi said the rebranding of the party was going to be holistic, based on a cluster structure, disclosing that 59 clusters had already been established across the local governments.

‘Anambra People are waiting for Sir Chukwuma to rescue them and lead them to the Promised Land,’ Ibezi declared.

On LG Polls, he reiterated the party’s non-participation in it, disclosing that they had gone to court to challenge some of the components of the electoral guidelines for that poll.

On zoning, he said there was no written document anywhere that insisted there would be zoning, noting that in the History of elections in the state, people from all zones had always contested.

The Director General said what was paramount now was to rescue the state and enthrone a new Anambra under Sir Chukwuma who he described as a first class material.

Reacting to the allegations of the opposition instigating insecurity in the state in order to discredit the incumbent government, he described such as laughable, and wondered how APC, which he described as a well-organized party with the majority of states in the country, could be sponsoring insecurity. He said the APC was made up of peace loving people despite provocations against them in the state.

He recalled how the party, through the sponsorship of Chukwuma, had erected billboards last year, of President Bola Tinubu, after paying all the levies. But by early January they noticed that the entire billboards were defaced and removed. He said he learnt that the boss of the state Signage Agency was directed to remove all APC billboards on the premise that APC did not exist in Anambra.

‘We petitioned to the Inspector General of Police and Gov Hope Uzodimma and demanded an investigation into that,’ he said, disclosing that it was still ongoing.

Present at the briefing were Chief Chuks Chinwuba, Chief Joe Offorkansi, a former Commissioner for Information in Anambra State; and James Eze, Press Secretary to former Gov Willie Obiano and present Spokesperson of Sir Paul Chukwuma Campaign Council.

A minute’s silence was observed for the repose of the soul of a fallen APC bigwig, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah.
