As part of his contribution towards the development of his community, Urunnebo Village, Enugwu Ukwu, in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano; Hon. Emeka Ozumba, last Sunday handed over a solar powered borehole, which he attracted, to the officials of Ministry of Public Utilities.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held at Urunnebo Village Hall, Ozumba said that after a fact-finding visit, he discovered that there was need for a solar powered borehole that would serve the health centre, noting that the hall, apart from housing the health centre, also had a Microfinance Bank, modern library, canteen and vigilante office, as well as event centre in it.

Ozumba said he drew the attention of the state government, through the Ministry of Public Utilities, to the need to build a solar powered borehole in the community; a plea, he said, was granted by the Governor.

The Deputy Chief Press Secretary thanked officials from the ministry for making sure that the project was delivered in record time, stating that the people working in the health centre would no longer look elsewhere for water, owing to electric power failure.

For his part, the President General, Urunnebo Improvement Union (UIU), Sir Greg Egenti, who led the delegation to the handover ceremony, attributed the project, which he described as timely executed, to the cooperation of Ozumba and the entire Urunnebo Community.

The President General commended the Governor for what described as the good works the Governor did in Anambra State, even as he thanked him for remembering his community.

He also promised on behalf of the village, to look after the project and make sure that it remained functional and secure.

The newly built borehole was blessed by the Parish Priest of St Francis’ Catholic Church, Enugwu Ukwu.
