Ozodinobi Donates Vehicles to Nimo Parishes in Memory of Late Wife

…Mbaka Gets One Too

By Jude Atupulazi
It was all smiles among the Christian Community in Nimo, Njikoka LGA of Anambra State, as an illustrious son of the town and former member representing Njikoka, Anaocha, Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Hon George Ozodinobi, Aja Ajanze, donated five Sienna cars to the four Catholic parishes in Nimo, as well as the only Anglican Church in the town.

Ozodinobi who said the donations were in memory of his late wife, also donated another Sienna car to the Founder and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka.

The former federal lawmaker said it was his way of remembering his late wife and thanking God for his blessings for his family, even as he noted that the spread of the donations was aimed at uniting the churches in the town.

Commenting on Ozodinobi’s gesture, the traditional ruler of Nimo, Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi, in whose palace the event took place, expressed happiness that his reign was witnessing such good developments, pointing out that it indicated the love of his people for him.

‘It tells me a lot about my reign and the quantum of love my people have for me,’ the Owelle of Nimo reflected, while praising Ozodinobi for his gesture and calling on others to toe Ozodinobi’s path.

For his part, the Vicar of St Paul Anglican Church, Nimo, Rev Canon Dr Valentine Chukwujekwu Mbachi, described the gesture as a sign of good things to come for the community.

Rev Mbachi who said the gesture would serve to unite the churches and engender peace, pledged the support and the prayers of the entire Anglican Church for Ozodinobi and his family. He also called on others to emulate the gesture.

The Parish Priest of St Kevin’s Parish Nimo, Rev Fr Hilary Okpalaji, on behalf of the other Catholic parishes in the town, thanked the donor for his gesture, noting that he had been known for such in the past, only that this time, he decided to extend his philanthropy to the entire community.

He expressed happiness at the way Ozodinobi decided to remember his late wife, saying that it was better than wasting money in the name of a befitting burial.

Noting that the vehicles would be used for evangelization, Fr Okpalaji urged the donor not to relent in such gestures.

‘We encourage him to do more and keep fighting till he gets to his final home in heaven,’ he said, commending Ozodinobi for spreading the donation outside his parish and denomination.

‘This is what is needed instead of lavishing money in the name of befitting burials,’ he said.

The traditions ruler of the town offered to register the vehicles for the parishes at the local government as his contribution.
