Ozigbo Rallies Diaspora Nigerians to Join Politics for Good Governance

By Jude Atupulazi

A Labour Party chieftain and former governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Chief Valentine Ozigbo, has called on Nigerians in diaspora to unite and get involved in politics for good governance.

He made the call during Diaspora Action for Democracy (DADA) General Monthly Conference.

The general monthly conference was attended by Dr. Daniel Elombah and DADA President, Mr Martin Egbe, who gave the address of welcome.

The Conference was aimed at inspiring a change in the narrative of the African Continent and its people from one of negativity and inferiority, to one of dignity and positivity, by taking personal responsibility and collective action to address the root causes of the African continent’s challenges and to harness its potentials.

Speaking at the conference, Valentine Ozigbo stressed the need for individuals to take responsibility for their actions and contributions to the current state of affairs, rather than blaming others or making excuses.

He highlighted the importance of rewriting the African Story, shifting from a narrative and negative impact of bad governance, selfishness and tribalism, corruption, poor planning, poor decision making, lawlessness, incompetence, poor infrastructure, thuggery, rent seeking, lack of vision, among others, to one of positivity, progress, and potential.

On the issue of unity and collaboration, Ozigbo emphasized the need for Africans to come together, strategize, and trade among themselves, recognizing the African Continent’s potential for growth and development.

Speaking on the issue of empowerment through action, the Labour Party chieftain, encouraged the People of Africa (Nigeria) to take action, inspired by the progress made in Nigeria’s Political Landscape, and to recognize that collective efforts can lead to significant positive change, reclaiming the African Continent’s dignity and rewriting its story for a better future.
