The Deputy Governorship Candidate of Young Progressives Party, YPP, Mr Uzuegbunam Okagbue, has described his party’s payment of the N50m campaign fee charged by the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) as both symbolic and strategic, as well as an indication of the YPP’s readiness for the November 8 Guber Election in the state.

Okagbue who stated this shortly after paying the money, said, ‘This payment is not just about compliance, it is a declaration of intent – bold, structured, and uncompromising. It reflects our integrity, our respect for due process, and our disciplined approach to governance.’

He said that the YPP campaign would be rooted in substance and vision, noting that its Governorship Candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, was motivated not by ambition, but by what he described as a compelling urgency to restore dignity to governance, transparency to leadership, and prosperity to the people of Anambra.’

By paying the fee, the Young Progressives Party became the first to pay the ₦50 million campaign permit fee to ANSAA ahead of the November election.

The payment, made on Friday, June 20, at the ANSAA headquarters in Awka, was led by the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, Uzu Okagbue, accompanied by key officials that included the State Secretary, Chief Joe Okonkwo; State Publicity Secretary, Prince Oforbuike Okoli; and community leader, Kakpai Timothy Nwankwo Jnr, the Traditional Prime Minister of Nawfija.

The payment allows the YPP to commence its campaigns without hindrance and free to mount billboards and paste posters, among others, anywhere in the state.

It will be recalled that ANSAA Managing Director, Mr Tony Ujubuonu, had announced the payment of N50m campaign fee by every political party that wished to take part in the campaigns ahead of the November 8 showdown; stating that no party was exempted, including that of the incumbent Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
