Chief Emeka Aforka, and the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Public Enlightenment and Special Duties, Hon. Ify Obinabo, alongside some stakeholders from Orumba North Local Government Area, visited Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, in his office at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka.

Speaking on behalf of others, Hon. Aforka said they were on a solidarity visit to the bishop, whom, he described as a true son of Orumba North, saying that they came to sympathize with him over the recent fire outbreak in the entrance of his office.

Hon. Aforka assured the bishop of their continued support and prayers, saying that the bishop had done so well as the chief shepherd of Awka Catholic Diocese, adding that they received the news of the fire incident with rude shock.

He expressed gratitude to God for saving the day, noting that without God’s intervention the fire would have escalated and also destroyed important documents in the bishop’s office. He thanked the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, for his prompt and timely visit to the bishop.

‘We are here in our numbers to see things for ourselves and also to encourage him. Bishop Ezeokafor is our uncle, brother and son. We are proud of you. You can see that virtually all the who-is-who from Orumba North is here,’ Aforka said.

For her part, the Special Adviser to the governor on Public Enlightenment and Special Duties, Hon. (Mrs) Ify Obinabo, extolled the bishop for the way and manner he had piloted the affairs of Awka Catholic Diocese, and enjoined others to emulate the bishop.

Hon. Obinabo commended Gov. Obiano for always leading the way, noting that the visit to the bishop’s office had once again endeared him to the people’s hearts. The Special Adviser called on Ndi Anambra to take the issue of fire outbreaks seriously and also desist from whatever that could ignite fire in their premises.
