…As COOU’s Acting Vice-Chancellor’s Children Institute Prizes In Her Name for Best Students

The Special Adviser to Governor of Anambra State on Youth Empowerment, Dr. Nelson Omenugha has fulfilled the promise he made on Sunday, 22nd December 2024, before God and His People at St Paul’s Catholic Church Nnobi, where he pledged to build and donate the Parish Rendezvous, a project approved since 2022 by the Parish Council but unable to take-off.
The parish Rendezvous , according to Nelson Omenugha popularly known as Dr. NOO would serve as a place for meeting, hosting/reception of parish guests, teachings, and evangelization.
‘Fast Forward to Saturday February 8, 50 days after, we have Catherine’s Rendezvous (named after my mum, Prof Kate Omenugha, to commemorate her 60th Birthday
The Rendezvous was blessed by The Prince of the Church, His Eminence, Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpaleke accompanied by His Lordship, Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye, in solidarity.
In his words, ‘God made this project possible through His provisions and the inspiration drawn from Dr Cletus Ibeto CON. When I mooted my desire for the project during private discussion, Omekadad greatly encouraged and financially supported me.
‘To also commemorate the recent 60th Birthday Anniversary of our beloved Mummylito, I have also paid the tuition fees of sixty Indigent pupils of Community Central School Nnobi (St Mary’s Cath) for 2025/2026 Academic Session. These are part of the children who do not have access to our government free qualitative education initiative because of the paucity of Government-owned/public primary schools in Nnobi.
‘Additionally, the children of Dr Mike & Prof Kate Omenugha formally instituted Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha prizes for best students (to run for 5years in the first instance) at her alma mater namely, Marie Regina Comprehensive Secondary School Nnewi and Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe.
‘We appreciate our fathers in faith, benefactors, friends, well-wishers, parishioners, and all who attended to celebrate with us.
‘Truly, we can not celebrate our matriarch enough. May God continue to keep and perfect all that concerns her. Amen.To God be the Glory,’ Dr Nelson Omenugha concluded
Speaking the Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Dr. Justina C Anyadiegwu applauded the Dr. Mike Omenugha, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, as well as their children, especially Dr. Nelson Omenugha for taking such a bold step , saying that endowment would spur the students to do even better.
