Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, last weekend inspected the ongoing work at the old Anambra Government House which is being reconstructed into a technology hub named, Solution Innovation District (SID).
The state government commenced the project last year, after officially moving out of the old Government House into the newly constructed Light House, Awka.
The Governor had said the aim of the project was to accommodate the growing population of developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs in the state.
The project which sits on a 12 to 13 hectares property is conceived to be a massive tech hub, designed to rival the infrastructure and output of Silicon Valley, the Governor said, during inspection last weekend.
Soludo said: ‘This ambitious project aligns with our administration’s core philosophy of “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere”.
‘By centralizing innovation within a dedicated physical space, the government aims to integrate digital solutions into every facet of the local economy and governance.
‘Construction here is currently in its first phase, with a high-intensity work schedule, aimed at finishing initial structures within the next few weeks, as assured by the contractors.
‘We will make another scheduled follow-up visit at the end of the month to monitor milestones. This hands-on approach ensures that the project remains on track to meet its goal of providing a permanent home for the state’s growing population of developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
‘The rapid pace of development reflects the urgency of transitioning the state’s digital ecosystem from its current temporary facilities to a world-class headquarters,’ the Governor said.
