Okenyi Emerges Chairman of Federated Chapel Nsukka

The National Assistant Secretary of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Comrade Iyke Okenyi has emerged as the Chairman of the Federated Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nsukka.

In a statement issued at University Town of Nsukka and the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka signed by the Chairman and Secretary respectively and was made available to our correspondent in Onitsha by e-mail.

In an election held at the Sports Club, Nsukka Comrade Okenyi emerged the winner by beating his opponent Nkemjika Cletus Ossai of the Great News Posts.

In his post election speech, the Chairman promised to operate an open door policy and to carry everybody along.

Comrade Okenyi who is the Nsukka Correspondent of the Oracle Newspaper in his words, said “I dedicate this victory to God and to all members of the Chapel.

“And I seek the cooperation of every member of this Chapel to move the union to greater heights”.

Other members of the new executive include: Comrade Chris Ezema (Vice Chairman), Comrade Brendan Eze (Secretary), Comrade Felix Ugwuanyi (Treasurer), Comrade Obioma Ogili (Financial Secretary) and Comrade Vin Odoh (Assistant Secretary).

The election was monitored and supervised by Comrade Rex Arum, Enugu State Council Chairman of the NUJ ably represented by Comrade Amaka Agbo, the State Council Secretary of the union.
