The President of the Synod and the Bishop of the Diocese of Ogbaru, His lordship, The Rt. Rev’d Prosper A. Amah (JP) strongly eulogised the mighty and prevailing hand of God over the Synod clearly manifest in careful planning, peaceful executions, successful deliberations and fruitful results.

The synod, while fulfilling her bids and agenda, took intentional trails in the synod event highlights, worthy of note is the Presentation of the Bishop’s Charge on Saturday, 17th May, where the President of the Synod and Bishop, Diocese of Ogbaru carefully denoted the mind of God for the Church, nation and individuals at this present time in relation to the Synod theme: Looking Unto Jesus culled from Hebrew chapters twelve verse one and two.

His lordship, while delivering his charge summarily posited thus: “If we must fulfil the purpose of God and maximise the Divine potentials in us, we must look away from the things behind, look away from things around us… look beyond the things that are so near, obsessing us now; we must resist all forms of distraction and then look unto Jesus.” The attendance, on aforesaid day, has in its record the presence of Church fathers, Political lords, friends and well meaning persons of the Diocese.

His lordship, The Rt. Rev’d Prosper A. Amah (JP), while speaking on the roll of events during the Synod Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, appreciated all that had their strides in making the Synod a success through financial involvements, mind and manpower engagements and prayers.

He extolled the giant strides of the host Archdeaconry with special recognition of the host Archedeacon, The Ven. Ifenna Emekpo, Synod Planning Committees and their heads, the Clerical Synod Secretary and others for their contributions in their various capabilities.

His lordship praised the firm and supportive roles of the Diocesan Women’s Ministry, ably led by the Bishop’s Wife and Mama Ogbaru, Dr. Mrs Uche Amah. He affirmed that their beautiful dispositions and endearing supports engendered ease on key areas of the synod.

All in all, Bishop Amah appreciated the Synod preacher and lord Bishop of The Anglican Diocese of Wusasa, The Rt. Rev’d Titus Alkali who led intentional depths and discoveries on the Synod theme throughout the Synod.

Bishop Amah finally blessed the land and the people, even as he insisted that all men should come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, uphold the banner of righteousness in every respect and life endeavour and at all times willingly support the gospel and the Church.
