The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has appointed Rtn. Ifeanyi Aniagoh as the Director General of the newly approved Digital Entrepreneurship Office in the state.
Fides learnt that the centre would serve as a Centre for ICT Development; nurture and expand Technovation, as well as a bureau for social mobility in solving youth unemployment through the Digital Space.
The office will also coordinate all the social media engagements ranging from popularization of the achievements of the government to aggregation of feedback and constructive criticisms which would not only enhance the participation of Ndị Anambra in governance but also ensure improved service delivery.
Speaking to Fides, the newly appointed DG of Digital Entrepreneurship Office, Engr. Ifeanyi Aniagoh, said that with Gov Obiano, Anambra State had jumped to the forefront of the drive to unleash technology potentials of the people.
‘In line with his vision to create a pool of young people that will dictate the pace in the Digital Space, viable platforms are being created for Ndị Anambra, especially digital entrepreneurs and social media nomads, to share ideas, explore opportunities and access tools, training and expertise for self-development, value reorientation and wealth creation.
‘With Digipreneur Hub, I’m in partnership with Facebook, Google, Wikimedia Foundation, Wisdom Foundation and Digital PR Wire. We have trained at least 5000 persons on different Digital Skills; mentored 2000 persons; linked over 1050 to Online Reputation Management jobs; and facilitated a few Start-ups,’ Aniagoh said.
Aniagoh is graduate of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with a slight career change to become a digital entrepreneurship expert to pursue his passion in the Digital Space.
Before his appointment, he was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media before moving to Youth Development and Digital Entrepreneurship, leading to the founding of Digipreneur Hub in May, 2018.
