The Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed concern over the fire incident at the popular Amawbia Junction in Amawbia.

Speaking at the scene last Sunday, Obi said he was saddened when he got the news and that his thoughts went straight to all those affected by the inferno, especially the families of the dead ones. He prayed for the repose of their souls.

Though he expressed shock at the extent of the destruction, he urged those affected not to lose hope as he assured them that when, by the grace of God, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar became President, the economy would improve and contingency measures put in place to ensure that victims of such accidents did not suffer so much.

Speaking further, Chief Joe-Martins Uzodike, who represented Mr. Peter Obi, appealed to Nigerians to disregard the news that Mr. Obi was attacked in Abuja, saying that nothing of such happened while Obi was in the places mentioned.
