The remains of the late Mrs Fransisca Nnedum was on Friday 7, December, 2018, committed to mother earth in her at her husband’s compound, Uruofolo village Akampisi , Nri, Anaocha L.G.A Anambra State. Late Mrs Fransisca Nnedum who died at 89 years on Monday, 29 October 2018, after a brief illness, was an ardent member of the Eucharistic Adoration Prayer Ministry of St Mary’s Catholic, Church, Uwani, Enugu State and also a member of Divine Mercy Devotion. She was survived by three Children, twenty step- children, thirteen grand children, six great grand children and other relation among whom is Lady Chinwe Nnedum, former Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Awka and also a member of Fides Board of Directors.
Leading in the Concelebrated Holy Mass, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Dioceses, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor stressed the need for individuals to spend their lives in attainment of the reason behind their creation. He stated that God created every person to love him, serve him and live with him in heaven.
Bishop Ezeokafor noted that the only thing they owed to the dead was prayers, saying their prayer would make them reach their creator. He maintained that the teaching of the Church was for them to bury the dead and through their prayers and sacrifice they would be redeemed. He noted that November 2nd was set aside to pray for all the departed souls for God to redeem them.
He admonished those who only seek for the things of the world, saying nothing good comes easy. This was even as he described late Mrs Nnedum as a true child of God who seeks the face of God. He admonished those who attend Church only on Sundays, saying that a true Child of should attend Massa every day and also belong to any pius society in the Church. He advised all to live a holy life on earth so as to make heaven.
In his remarks, the Parish Priest St Peter’s Parish, Rev Fr Damian Okeke thanked God for the ideal life Late Mrs Nnedum spent in the service of God and humanity. He condoled with the family and prayed that God would give them fortitude to bear the loss knowing that their mother died at a ripe age.
In her vote of thanks, Lady Chinwe Nnedum thanked Bishop Ezeokafor for officiating the burial Mass of her mother and appreciated all the concelebrants for making out time to be with them and prayed that God would visit them in times of their need.
