Frontline Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, in this year’s Governorship Election in Anambra State, Mr John Nwosu, has reaffirmed his commitment to good governance in the New Year.

In a press statement made available to Fides, Nwosu, who extended what he described as his warmest wishes to every son and daughter of Anambra State, noted that the year 2024 now belonged to history and that the joys and pains of the past year should serve as a reminder for all as they looked forward to a better new year, 2025.

His words, ‘In the spirit of renewal, I reaffirm my commitment to vigorous advocacy for good governance; and ensuring a better and secure Anambra for all. Together, we will continue to insist on the prioritization of security by working diligently to safeguard our communities, ensuring that our homes, markets and public spaces remain safe havens for us and our children.

‘In the area of fair taxation, we will insist on focused  tax policies that do not over burden our hardworking citizens, but instead support our collective growth. Your respective contributions should empower the state to develop, not to weigh you down.

‘To our traders and entrepreneurs, I assure you that support for sustainable commerce will remain at the heart of our agenda. Anambra’s markets are the lifeblood of our economy, and we will continue to insist on the creation of an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, compete and succeed.

‘2025 is the year when we must set clear targets for our youths, civil servants and women, by first recognizing their unique roles in the development of our state. We will invest heavily in programmes that will empower our youths with lucrative skills and opportunities, support our civil servants to ensure effective governance, and provide women with the tools and resources to excel in every endeavour.

‘Let us move forward together in unity, harnessing the strength of our collective resolve to build the Anambra of our dreams. I encourage all to remain hopeful, steadfast and committed to the progress of our dear state.’
