Lady Vero Onyenwe speaks after her installation as a patroness of ADCCA

. . . Dedicates Honour to Late Dad

One of the newly installed patronesses of Awka Diocesan Catholic Catechist Association (ADCCA), Lady Veronica Oby Onyenwe said that her installation as a patroness of the association was God’s moment of visitation in her life and house hold.

Lady Veronica Onyenwe made the statement shortly after her installation as ADCCA patroness and dedication of the honour bestowed on her by the ADCCA to her late Father, Catechist Bernard Onyekajiaka Onyeguili.

She noted that the honour came to her through the instrumentality of God’s work and expressed profound appreciation to the association for bestowing the honour no her. She maintained that the honour came when least expected it and attributed reason for her installation to the positive side of her which members of ADCCA must have observed.

In her words ‘It pleased God to visit me. I never expected it, maybe members of the association saw something good in me and I never knew I was good. But since they called me up for this elevation, I am edified because I have been struggling in life to be better and better every day. I place everything to the glory of God’, she stated.

She appreciated the holistic and qualitative formation imbedded in her, alongside her siblings by their late father saying that such was necessary towards the success she had attained in life.

She described her late father as a phenomenal, indefatigably, hardliner, a mentor and a moralist who through his position as a catechist and head teacher instilled discipline in the lives of many individuals. She disclosed that her life struggle had been to follow the footsteps of her late dad and to please God.

She encouraged members of the association to take the bull by the horn and focus on their primary responsibility of teaching lay faithful the ways of Christ irrespective of the challenges they might face in discharging their duties. She highlighted the indispensable responsibility which Catholic catechists carryout in their various local churches where they serve and called on all to give them the maximum support which they require to function effectively.
