Minimum Wage: First Anambra Entrepreneur to Announce N70,000.00 minimum wage For Workers

The Chairman/CEO of 𝗭𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 Ltd Awka, Anambra State, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗔𝗸𝗮𝗶 𝗘𝗴𝘄𝘂𝗼𝗻𝘄𝘂 has made a groundbreaking move by announcing his decision to pay his workers a minimum wage of N70,000.

While making the announcement, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝗴𝘄𝘂𝗼𝗻𝘄𝘂 who is also the CEO of 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝘁𝗱 (producers of Anambra Rice) agreed that his decision aligns with that of 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗼’s developmental agenda which demonstrates great commitment to supporting employees during hard times.

Talking about implementation, he said that the new salary structure will take effect from November 2024.

𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝗴𝘄𝘂𝗼𝗻𝘄𝘂 is reportedly the first private sector operator in Anambra State and possibly other States to implement the N70,000 minimum wage which is aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship on his workers.

The company in a release said 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝗴𝘄𝘂𝗼𝗻𝘄𝘂’s proactive approach sets a positive example for other private sector operators, prioritizing workers’ welfare and contributing to the Nation’s development.

“It is on record that companies owned by 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗔𝗸𝗮𝗶 𝗘𝗴𝘄𝘂𝗼𝗻𝘄𝘂 are well known for offering high-quality products and services at affordable prices,” it stated.
