The Archdeacon of the Inland Town Archdeaconry, Diocese on the Niger, Anambra State, Ven. Dr Emma Ukpeke, has called on christians to go beyond the mere verbal professing of their faith and instead to actively translate christian principles in their daily lives.

Delivering a sermon in his station, the Emmanuel Anglian Church, Inlandtown, Onitsha, recently, Ven. Dr Ukpeke emphasized that faith without corresponding action fell short of true christian living.

He urged believers to demonstrate love, honesty, integrity, and service to others as tangible expressions of their faith.

“We cannot afford to remain passive about our beliefs. Christianity is not just about attending church services; it is about practising the values which Christ taught us: love, humility, forgiveness, and compassion,” he stated.

The venerable stressed that many societal challenges, including corruption and moral decline, could be addressed if more christians lived out their faith sincerely.

He encouraged christians to be exemplary in their workplaces, communities, and families, noting that their actions should inspire others toward righteousness.

Ven. Ukpeke also highlighted the importance of charity and service, urging churches to engage more in outreach programmes that directly impact the less privileged.

“It is not enough to preach; we must also act. Our faith should be evident in how we treat others, especially the poor and needy,” he added.

While calling on church leaders to reinforce the message of practical Christianity, the Man of God reminded believers that their actions would naturally speak louder than their words in witnessing for Christ.
