Lady Ngozi Meg Okoye is CWO Awka Diocesan’s 2019 Best Organizer

The Organizer of Catholic Women’s Organization (C.W.O), Awka I Deanery, Lady Ngozi Meg Okoye, has been honoured with the 2019 Best Organizer Award by the C.W.O. of Awka Diocese.

Presenting the Certificate of Honour and trophy to Lady Okoye at the 2019 Awka Diocesan Laity Council Bishop’s Christmas held at St Patrick’s Cathedral Podium, Awka, Anambra State, on December 19, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, congratulated her on what he described as a deserved and distinguished honour.

Earlier when she announced the 2019 Best Organizer Award, the Director, C.W.O., Awka Diocese, Lady Theresa Chinyere Azodo, said Lady Okoye emerged the best organizer on merit. According to the director, the organizer of Awka I

Deanery won the overall best, having distinguished herself in the criteria for the judgment.

The director commended Lady Okoye for what she described as her well-deserved award, saying that Okoye had been outstanding in her commitment and duties both as an organizer and a C.W.O. member.

According to the information released to Fides by the Secretary, C.W.O., Awka Diocese, Dr Mrs Amara Dimejesi, the criteria for the assessment of organizers’ performance for the year 2019 included attendance to meetings and functions, compliance to C.W.O. rules and regulations, prompt payment of dues and Peter University Levy.

Other criteria were adequate management of the deanery’s C.W.O. affairs and cordial relationship with authorities.

In a chat with Fides, the 2019 Best Organizer of C.W.O., Awka Diocese, Lady Ngozi Meg Okoye, said she was humbled over the award, which according to her, was a call to more services to God and mankind.

Lady Okoye, who bowed out this January, 2020, having served as the immediate past organizer, thanked God for sustaining her for the six years she piloted the affairs of C.W.O. Awka I Deanery as organizer.

‘I thank the good Lord, who through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM), saw me through these past years I served as the Organizer of C.W.O, Awka I Deanery, despite my unworthiness,’ Lady Meg Okoye said, praying God to continuously sustain her deanery and Awka Diocese in his shining light for eternal blessings for all in the end.
