…As Vicar, Egwuonwu Cautions

By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu

The Joy Family, Church of The Holy Spirit, Awka, Anambra State, has been rededicated to God by the Vicar, Rev’d Canon Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu.

Also rededicated was the Love family of the Church amidst Pomp and ceremony.

Even as, Rev’d Canon Dr Egwuonwu has urged Christians to be disciples of Jesus Christ anywhere they found themselves by winning souls for Christ through their actions and inactions.

He commended the four families in the Church including Joy , Love, Peace, and Faith for donating one window each for the end of February family Thanksgiving of the Church.

He encouraged true Anglicans to ensure they attend Evening Song to learn Anglican traditions, adding  that all families attending the Church of The Holy Spirit should do well to register as members of the Church for 2024.

Earlier in his sermon centered on the theme: Cross; the way of life and peace, Rev’d Canon Dr Egwuonwu  reminded that Jesus’s death on the cross is enough penalty for Christians to be saved and receive salvation. He noted that God has paid all the bills through Christ Jesus hence, any Christian found in hell had himself or herself to blame.

In attendance at the rededication Church service were the Vice-Chancellor Paul University,  Awka , Ven Prof Obiorah Nwosu, and priest Assistants Rev’d Augustine Otiji, Rev’d Dr Nnaemeka Ezeonyi among others.

The Vicar had earlier urged the Chairperson Lady Esther Okoye, Vice-Chairperson, Mrs Ify Igbokwe and secretary, Mrs Ifeoma Nwobu as Nnebuife 2024 Mothering Sunday planning Committee, to make the week memorable for worshippers.

This year’s Diocesan theme is Working in the Light.

The Vicar had at other times told his congregation under the theme , Repentance; Response to Divine Love, that Satan has nothing to offer anyone who professes Jesus Christ but destruction, even as he added that Jesus Christ is life and solution to all problems. He encouraged Christians to return to Jesus Christ and have peace.
