… As Young Girls Asked To Be Wiser
Joy Family and Peace Family of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka last Sunday rededicated it’s members for 2025 Spiritual Year amidst pomp and ceremony.
Joy Family is led by Prof (Sir) Ogonna Ifebi and the woman leader Mrs Chinwe Aghamba while Peace Family is led by Sir Dr Chinedu Ilokanuno and the woman leader is Lady Barr. Ogugua Ochuba.
This is coming as young girls have been encouraged to be much wiser in suitor selection to avoid avoidable regrets after the traditional wedding or White wedding.
According to the Archdeacon, CHS Archdeaconry, Ven. Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu young girls nowadays are bent on marrying riches no matter how it’s made, rather than seeking for potential in a man.
He warned that riches flitters away but potential expands by the days to come.
Ven.Dr. Egwuonwu who is also the Vicar of CHS, Awka reminded that embracing Jesus Christ is a sure way to guide one into good and great decisions rather than carnally, adding that there is no other sacrifice to make since Jesus Christ has been sacrificed for mankind on the cross.
He added that only what was necessary for Christians to be successful was for Christians to believe in a God. He encouraged Christians to always sing to eulogize God for all His benevolence.
The CHS Archdeacon expressed gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his team for bringing sanity in the state with the new security team flushing scammers, fraudsters and criminals out of the state.
He is worried that people don’t understand the concept of marriage which according to him is a divine assignment , even as he warned those without understanding of the essence of marriage to stop sowing seeds of discord in their marriages. He reminded the congregation that the mind is what God considers, because the contents of our mind matters to God.
The theme was : ‘ The power in the gospel of Christ’.
Meanwhile, during the rededication of Love family led by Barr. Ralph Chukwuzubelu and woman leader Mrs. Chinyere Nwune and Faith family led by Builder Isaac Okpala and woman leader representative Ambassador Amala Okpala, families were charged to ensure they always check on their members.
Vicar, Church of the Holy Spirit Awka, Ven.Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu encouraged parents to forgive themselves and unite for the greater glory of their children,even as he tasked them to teach their children values.
Ven.Dr Egwuonwu lamented that wrong impartation contributes to wrong upbringing, decrying that this generation are not scared of laws of God.
Speaking on the theme: ‘The coming messenger of Justice “, Ven.Dr Egwuonwu encouraged Christians to be conscious of time in all they do, as he admonished them to trust God as a game changer.
He urged parents not to discard the church obligations on their children since parenting is key to better children upbringing. He encouraged both parents to have an interest in the progress of their children.
The service witnessed Thanksgiving by various families and churching by Rev.Dr Nnaemeka & Ebere Ezeonyi and Rev.Engr. Chijioke & Ijeoma Anaemena for their babies.
