Priest Assistant,  Church of The Holy Spirit Awka,  Reverend Dr Nnaemeka Ezeonyi has encouraged Christians to be humble like Jesus Christ, and jettison pride, if they truly expect God to bless them with His greatness.

Delivering his sermon on the theme: ‘Greatness in The Kingdom of God’, Rev’d Dr Ezeonyi insisted that for anyone to be great in God’s kingdom, the person must be humble enough to serve others.

He also appealed to Christians to stop speeding in the wrong directions in life but to await and follow God’s direction, even as he reminded that true servants destined for God’s greatness must prioritize service in God’s vineyard.

Rev’d Dr Ezeonyi threw up the five groups in the congregation, in  the vineyard of God, with their different duties, including the financial members, the political members, the stewards and church goers who do nothing but attend worship and go.

He then went on to mention the fifth which he said are the Spiritual members known as background operators,  who are the engine of every successful event in the church, yet, unsung and not celebrated. This group, he described as the watchmen of the church.

Rev’d Dr Ezeonyi appealed to Christians to ensure the Church is a replica of the kingdom of God by their characters and lifestyle.

He reminded Christians that what make them great before God is different from what make them great before men, hence they should be intentional about being humble,  and service to humanity.

In his remarks, the Vicar, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka and Archdeacon, CHS Awka Archdeaconry, Ven. Dr Onyeka Egwuonwu threw more insights on Anglicanism and the Trinity of one God, explaining that Anglican belief is Monotheism, not Polytheism.

He explained further that Anglicans belief is in a single all-powerful God who exists eternally in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; as opposed to Polytheism that believe in multiple gods.

Ven.Dr Egwuonwu announced two Lay Readers; Evangelist Kingsley Ogunta and Maazi O.C Akutaekwe as Prison Ministers to represent the Church of The Holy Spirit, CHS, Awka in pastoral works in the Correctional Center, Awka to propagate the word of God.
