To make the free education policy of the present administration in Anambra State more meaningful, a community leader in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, Chief Emeka Asimonye, has proposed to make senior secondary and tertiary education free for the children of his Nimo Community whose parents are indigent if he is chosen by his people as the next President General of the community.

Chief Asimonye, who stated this in a chat with newsmen recently in Nimo, expressed dissatisfaction with the level of educational development in the community and the state, saying more needed to be done to boost education and make it meaningful and an opportunity equalizer for children of the rich and those of the poor by people in authority.

He further disclosed that he had a plan to introduce Guidance and Counselling for primary and secondary schools in the community with the aim of guiding pupils on the right path.

He expressed optimism that it would go a long way in helping the pupils to keep their minds off all forms of immorality and criminality prevalent in society today.

On how he would tackle matters as the PG of his town, he said, ‘The Constitution of Nimo will be my priority. I intend to bring the warring factions together to a roundtable where we will resolve all their differences. I have done it before in Obosi Urban where I reside.’
