He could have gone home to rest after a tedious day’s job on the road, but Emeka decided to treat his beloved father to a happy evening with his favourite meal. Unfortunately, his innocent desires was shattered by the tragic fire outbreak at Amawbia Round about last Saturday. Emeka Nwofor is a commercial Bus Driver from Umuokpu Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

As he stood watching his Bus burn to ashes, he narrated his story:
“I came back from Nnewi to Awka my home town. Then, I came to Amawbia Round to buy indomie and breadfruit for my Dad at a nearby shop. It was around some minutes after 7. Unfortunately, the tanker fell and they say it contained PMS. As I was about to rush back to my car to drive it out so it doesn’t explode, I was stopped and held back by the onlookers. So, I left the bus. Just about two minutes later, it exploded.

“But as at the time it was burning there was no one inside the bus since I have closed for the day” He futher harrated. “The plate number is ZBL 155 SA.”

He called on the government to come to his assistance and that of all who were victims of the sad event.
